Southside Charter’s Trey Allen and Cole Vaughn – Presented by Shelter Insurance

SOUTHSIDE CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL

Arkansas Football Player Nominations

Southside Charter High School, led by head coach Kenny Simpson, will again be powered by senior quarterback Trey Allen and senior guard Cole Vaughn in 2026. Allen is described as one of the premier all around football players in Arkansas and the unquestioned leader of the team. A three year starter at both quarterback and cornerback-earning a starting role at corner as a freshman—he has accounted for 47 career touchdowns and 4,593 total yards on offense while also establishing himself as one of the area’s top defensive backs with 103 tackles, 22 pass breakups and 10 interceptions. He earned All-State and All-Conference honors as a junior and is known for elevating his game in big moments, pairing elite competitiveness with confidence, toughness and leadership, yet remaining one of the most coachable players in the program. Away from football, Allen carries a 4.0 GPA and is a standout multi-sport athlete in basketball and track, and college programs are already taking notice of a student-athlete whose impact and character will largely determine the Saints’ success this season.

Vaughn gives Southside Charter a stabilizing force up front. A returning senior starter at guard, he is the type of physical, intelligent offensive lineman every successful team is built around. At 6-0, 220 pounds, he excels as a pulling guard, playing with athleticism and physicality while making line calls and handling the small details that do not always show up in the stat sheet. Simpson praises him as a dependable leader and extremely coachable player, and notes that he is one of the biggest reasons the Saints expect their offensive line to be a strength in 2026. Together, Allen’s playmaking and Vaughn’s presence in the trenches give Southside Charter a tough, veteran core on both sides of the ball.
