Rourke Sevier – Batesville
Rourke Sevier’s game is built on one simple truth: if the ball is in play, he is probably nearby. The Batesville junior linebacker turned the 2025 season into a personal tackling clinic, emerging as the heartbeat of the Pioneers’ defense and one of the most productive defenders in Arkansas. For a program that prides itself on toughness and effort, his motor and reliability became the standard.
The numbers behind that impact are staggering. Rourke led the entire state in tackles and ranked 69th nationally as a junior, finishing with 154 total stops and an average of 15.4 tackles per game. Coach Ryan Morrow described him as a player who “leads the state in tackles” and sits “69th nationally as a junior,” emphasizing how rare it is for a high school defender to sustain that kind of production over a full season. Morrow also highlighted his future plans and character, noting that Sevier is “planning on attending one of the military academies after he graduates high school,” a reflection of his discipline and long-term mindset.
Off the field, Sevier mirrors that standard of excellence. He carries a 3.6 GPA and is described as a leader in both the school and community, giving Batesville more than just a tackling machine in the middle of its defense. For the Pioneers, having a junior who dominates statistically while embodying leadership, service, and ambition makes Rourke Sevier the ideal Difference Maker—right now and for the future of the program.
