Arkansas Underclassmen to Watch – Presented by Shelter Insurance

Logan Erwin – Ashdown High School

Logan was the junior high starting quarterback and played well this past year. He then moved up and started on varsity at outside linebacker because of his ability to pick up the defensive scheme and make plays.  He is a smart player and a natural playmaker.  

Keegan Larson – Bentonville West

He started 12 games at left tackle for varsity as a freshman, now he is back for his sophomore year, and it should be special.

Cayden Burch – Bismarck

Tall, athletic, and versatile athlete.  Can play quarterback or wide receiver and is good on defense.

Cooper Moseley – CAC

He will be the quarterback this year. Hard worker, a great arm, and a knowledge of the game.

Finn Schmalz – Charleston

Sophomore running back and linebacker. He has loads of potential and is a hard worker.

Jake Crane – Danville

Jake has a lot of talent. College potential. Needs to have a good year to get some interest. 

Kaiden Golden – DeWitt

Very athletic and physical player, has the size and athleticism to be special.

Jeremiah Young – Gosnell High School

Young is one of those young guys who just jumps off the film. He’s explosive at the point of attack and has a natural ability to finish through tackles. For a young outside linebacker, he plays with great physicality and instinct.

Jayshawn Goodwin – Hamburg High School

Freshman defensive back who will start at cornerback and also get carries at running back. Super athletic and will also start for the varsity basketball team as a freshman. Kid can run any coverage and will come down and make tackles.

Kypton Rowland – Hampton High School

Kyp commands the offense as well. He knows everyone’s job on every play and is a great communicator. Kyp has a strong arm and is a big, tough kid. 

Jackson Hammontree – Har-Ber High School

Jackson is a sophomore who already has the size and strength to play on a Friday night.  He will help his team on the defensive line and at tight end this year.

Adam Morgan – Harrisburg High School

Adam has a lot of potential at linebacker.  He is extremely coachable and has a great motor.

Tristan Carter – Haskell Harmony Grove

Has the frame and strength to contribute as an underclassman this year. Once he figures out the speed of the high school game, he will be a good player.

Jacob Leopard – Huntsville

Jacob is a ninth grader, but has had a great off-season and summer.  He is looking to have a great year as a fullback and defensive end.  Jacob has great hands out of the back field, along with good speed. He is hard to bring down one-on-one.

Jaiden Walter – Jacksonville High School

Jaiden is a left guard who is very physical and smart. He’s getting love from UAPB, and expects more in the future.

Michael Webb – Lafayette County

Quick feet, good runner, good hands, and physical. Has a chance to be a big-time player on both sides of the ball.

Logan Polczynski – Lakeside Hot Springs

Multisport athlete, baseball and football. A diligent worker in both sports. Never misses a workout. Plays running back, linebacker, and tight end.

Kasen Humphrey – Lamar

A great blocker who has great hands. Should start at tight end.

Toiree Enlow-Moore – Little Rock Parkview

Toiree is a great kid who is not afraid to put in the time to be at his best whenever he hits the field. 

Darius Jeffery – Lonoke

Darius quarterbacked the freshman team a year ago. He will start at wide receiver, cornerback, and in the return game. Darius got playing time in the back end of last year. He got several snaps at wide receiver against LR Hall, LR Mills, and in the playoff game vs Prairie Grove. 

Brady Cohn – Manila Lions

Brady was the linebacker and H-back for the junior high last season and led the team in tackles and receiving yards.  Brady is in the top three in all our categories in the weight room.

Chris Blackmon – Mayflower High School

Chris has stepped up to the high school level and has been very tough to stop when he has the ball in his hands.

Cortney Thomas – Mineral Springs

A sophomore running back with exceptional vision and consistently reads blocks and anticipates lanes before they develop. He is patient in his approach yet decisive through contact; he trusts his blockers, sets up defenders with subtle footwork, and creates big-play opportunities for the offense.

KJ Summons – North Little Rock

KJ has a great motor and takes coaching really well. He comes to practice every day to get better and also maintains above a 3.5 GPA.

Jayden Charles – Northside

Two-sport athlete. Explosive and athletic young player who will see action on both sides of the ball at defensive back and wide reciver. Excellent grades with high character.

Julian Andrews – Pea Ridge

Started three games as a freshman last year. Highly competitive player, works hard, makes every summer workout. Also, will play some running back.

Tyson Thacker – Pottsville

Tahcker will look to step up and make contributions on the field this season.

Treyvion Evans – Prescott

Evans is an outstanding athlete who will be in the secondary rotation this season.

Jacob Miles – Searcy

Jacob is a rising sophomore. He will be at quarterback this year. Jacob is a mature kid who is  very physical. He combines a strong arm with being a very tough runner. Jacob is already emerging as a team leader.

Barrett Mallett – Valley View

Sophomore athlete could play quarterback, running back, or wide receiver. No matter where he plays, he will make in impact.

Jasper Callahn – Walnut Ridge

Led the team to the conference championship in junior high last year.

Geordan Malone – West Memphis

Malone is an explosive player and will be a wide receiver this season. He is the type of athlete that does not come along too often. 

John Mills – Wynne

A very talented lineman who moved up and played as a freshman in the playoffs last year.

Wyatt Gilley – Yellville-Summit High School

He is a multi-sport sophomore athlete who starts on the basketball and baseball teams as well as the football team. He plays quarterback and wide receiver on offense and will play cornerback on defense. Has great hands and will be a playmaker in the red zone, and tough to attack on defense.
